Marbury vs. Madison- Judicial review is the power of the Supreme Court to declare acts of congress as Constitutional or Unconstitutional.
Plessy vs. Ferguson - Segregated public transportatin was deemed Constitutional "seperate but equal"
Scheneck vs. United States- 1st amendment rights aren't absolute if they present a "clear and present danger" to society.
Korematsu vs. United States- Deemed it legal to place Japanese Americans into internment camps, post Pearl Harbor.
Brown vs. Board of Education- Overturns Plessy vs. Ferguson, by saying segregation was a violation of equal protection under law.
Miranda vs. Arizona- Your rights (5&6 in BofR) must be read to you before confessions can be used against you known today as the Miranda Rights.
Mapp vs. Ohio- Making of the exclusionary rule. Unreasonable searches without warrants cannot be performed or that evidence cannot be used.
Roe vs. Wade (1973)- Abortion was legal in the first 3 months of pregnancy "fundamental right to privacy"
University of CA vs. Bakke- Reverse discrimination, a white male was rejected allthough he scored better than the African American one.
